The Jinji Lake Scenic Area and Yangchenghu Peninsula Tourist Resort in SIP recorded 2.7844 million tourist arrivals during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Oct 1 to 8 (up 20.2% year-on-year), while other tourist destinations in the area also achieved new record in the number of visitors, demonstrating robust cultural tourism.
The 2025 SIP Golden Autumn ? Three Lakes Carnival, incorporating performances, theme fairs, sports events, art events and trendy shopping experiences, served as a strong driver for consumption during the holiday.
Concerts were frequently staged on the banks of Jinji Lake, and “Dream in Peony Pavilion”, a dance drama, was staged at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre for six consecutive days.
Bazaars and fairs thrived across SIP, integrating shopping, trendy sports, cultural experiences and performances.
Other attractions included art exhibitions, pets’ activities, paddleboarding race, craft beer festival, etc.
During the holiday, which coincided with the harvest season of Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs, the Yangchenghu Peninsula Tourism Resort ushered in its annual peak visitor period. The resort received 908,900 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 36.22%, with average daily visitor number rising by 19.19% compared to the same period last year.
The 2025 WTA 125 Suzhou Open and the 11th Chinese Football Boys Champion Challenge (U11) also attracted many people.
SIP offers a diversity of hotels, ranging from luxury and themed accommodations to budget-friendly options, catering to every traveler’s needs. During the holiday, 12 key hotels around Jinji Lake and Yangcheng Lake Peninsula generated a combined operating income of RMB49.0459 million, up 18.76% YoY.
SIP also offered free sightseeing bus service during the holiday, providing great convenience for traveling to Jinji, Yangcheng and Dushu lakes.
